Mrs Jocelyn Espouy 28 QUEEN?S ROAD ASHLEY DOWN BRISTOL

1. While we have no objection to our neighbour extending per se, the two storey partdoes seem quite large, with a large side elevation profile.2. The South-facing rear of our house and ground floor extension would be overshadowed by thelarge side elevation and this would cut out daylight to our living space.3. The first floor side window for the rear bedroom would impact on our privacy as it would allowviews directly into our ground floor living space.4. The drawings do not show the relationship to our house but it appears that the two storey sideextension would project beyond our ground floor extension and have an overbearing effect.5. As occupants of No.28, we have previously applied for a more modest two storey sideextension, where the first floor part did not project beyond the existing rear of our home and thedesign was generally more in keeping with the local style. However this was rejected by theplanning officer. As a result we reduced our plans to a single storey extension. Our concern is thatif a two storey extension is allowed for No. 30 so close to our property, this will block us fromresubmitting plans for a second storey extension in the future. We hope there is a consistentapproach from the planning department when considering this application.
