We objected to this application to excavate front garden to create basement accommodation for the following reasons:-
- this terrace of houses raised up on a bank facing the Gloucester Road is a set-piece which at present is completely intact and adds significantly to the character of the local area.
- the proposed accommodation at basement level would have a bedroom with no natural light or ventilation and as such would not provide reasonable residential amenity.
Unfortunately the application was approved, though this will upset the visual integrity of this fine terrace of 4 unlisted houses which sit high up on a grass bank.
